Keith and Dianne MacKenzie-Ross, residents at Austin Heath retirement village in Warwickshire since 2021, have found more than just a new home - they’ve found a community filled with friendship, comfort, and plenty to enjoy.

"Our daughter suggested the idea of a retirement village," Keith shares. "We visited and really liked the village and apartment. It’s a very friendly place - you are never lonely because there is always someone to talk to. We have made a lot of friends here."

Their bright, comfortable two-bedroom apartment is a perfect fit. "We use one of the bedrooms as a spare and office-type room," Keith explains. "There’s even an additional access door to our apartment which we may use for carers in the future, but we don’t need that just yet. Having the night staff here is comforting - we know there is always someone here to help if needed."

Keith and Dianne appreciate the thoughtful design and practicality of Austin Heath. "It’s a quiet area but close to the shops if needed," Keith says. "We don’t have to worry about stairs or working in the garden because there are onsite staff who do this work, so we have somewhere pretty to look at from our balcony. We do enjoy our life here."

The couple has embraced the social opportunities too. "We enjoy classical music; we sometimes enjoy the coffee morning and attend the music nights and some of the history nights," Keith says. The activities have helped them meet new people and stay connected - something they’ve valued throughout their lives.

Having lived a life full of adventure - from Keith’s career in mainframe computing that took them from Canada to Europe, to their travels across 106 countries - the couple has seen the world. They’ve experienced everything from safaris in South Africa to diplomatic receptions and cultural events in Europe. Yet, it’s the simple joys of their new home that bring them the most peace and happiness now.

For Keith and Dianne, Austin Heath isn’t just a place to live - it’s where friendships flourish, support is always at hand, and every day feels like a new chapter waiting to be written.
