Top reasons to live in Bedfordshire
Sitting to the north of London, Bedfordshire is a popular choice for people to live (and it’s not just for its superb transport links!). Rich of outstanding natural beauty and history, Bedfordshire really is a haven of true beauty. Full of beautiful little towns and villages, you’ll never run out of places to explore.
Not to be biased, but we think there are a number of wonderful reasons to live in Bedfordshire, so we’ve put together a list below.
Excellent transport links
With excellent transport links to the capital and surrounding cities like Oxford and Cambridge. Bedfordshire is ideal for people that love easy access to London while living surrounded by beautiful countryside. For a day in London, you can jump on the train and be there within the hour or jump in the car and you can be exploring the lovely streets of Cambridge also within an hour.
Not only is there great transport links on the ground, Luton airport is conveniently located in Bedfordshire, so you also have great links to other parts of the world as well. With flights to 30 different countries across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa - if travelling is on your bucket list you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to go.
Outstanding countryside
From the breathtaking views of the Dunstable Downs to the charity Forest of Marston Vale and Greensand Ridge - one thing that Bedfordshire is not short of is endless, lovely countryside to explore. Whether you’re an avid walker, a keen cyclist or just enjoy a Sunday stroll with a pub trip at the end, there’s something for everyone.
Not only is there beautiful countryside to explore, but there are also plenty of little villages for you to wander around or grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Ickwell is a lovely village with streets full of traditional thatched and half-timbered cottages or visit the stunning village of Turvey, which is full of cosy pubs, quaint shops and a truly peaceful village atmosphere.
Endless things to do and see
One of the many great things about Bedfordshire is just how much there is to do all over the county. From family attractions, like Whipsnade Zoo and Woburn Safari Park, to keep the children or grandchildren entertained; museums and historical sites to expand your knowledge, like Woburn Abbey, Knebworth House & Gardens or the Ashridge Estate or shopping destinations to get your retail therapy fix. If you consider yourself a bit of a foodie, there are plenty of delicious food and drink spots - you’ll be spoilt for choice.
