Inspired Friendships: Events - June 2023

Join us for an extraordinary week of activities and heartfelt connections as we embrace the Inspired Friendships campaign, "Forget the Tech and Reconnect," during Loneliness Awareness Week from Monday 12th June to Friday 16th June.
In a world driven by technology, we encourage you to take a break and engage with each other the way we once did.

Monday 12th June
Memories on Monday, The Early Bird. Get ready to reminisce and have some fun! Join us at 10 am for our usual meet-up, but this time, bring a picture of yourself as a baby, child, or a younger version of you.
We'll enjoy a friendly competition to see if we can recognise each other.

Tuesday 13th June
Trail Trekkers Tuesday, Vinters Valley Nature Reserve. Embark on an adventure with Warden Steve Songhurst as your guide through the enchanting Vinters Valley Nature Reserve. Explore the hidden corners of the reserve not usually accessible to the public.
Please note that there's a maximum capacity of 15 participants, and a recommended donation of £5 will support the reserve's upkeep. The walk will last approximately two hours, starting at 1:45 pm, and advance booking is essential.

Wednesday 14th June
We do like to be beside the Seaside Wednesday, Eastbourne. Get ready for a delightful day out to Eastbourne! Hop aboard the Friendship Bus provided by Stagecoach for a direct trip to this coastal gem.
Once there, enjoy a ride on the charming Dotto train that runs along the promenade. This exclusive day trip is free of charge, but you'll be responsible for your refreshments. We've also extended an invitation to Abby from Wishing Hearts Charity and her members to join us on this exciting adventure. Let's meet at 10 am in Maidstone and return around 5 pm.

Thursday 15th June
Table Tennis Thursday, Ledian Gardens near Maidstone. No excuses for not playing table tennis! Join us at Ledian Gardens for a fun-filled day of friendly competition. Our very own Dee and I will be the ball girls, ensuring an energetic and enjoyable atmosphere. To maintain a great experience for everyone, we kindly request you to book your spot in advance, as space is limited.
Refreshments will be provided, and we dare you to participate in a thrilling league table challenge of ladies versus men! The event will run from 10 am to 12 pm.

Friday 16th June
Fruity Friday, Milebush Farm in West Farleigh. Embrace the charm of traditional fruit picking as we head to Milebush Farm in West Farleigh. Indulge in the joy of harvesting delicious strawberries while having a great time together. Please note that this activity requires self-driving.
If you need transportation assistance, kindly let us know, and we'll do our best to arrange carpooling among participating members.

We invite you to join us for one or all of these engaging activities. Remember, this week is all about coming together and cherishing each other's company, free from technology distractions. (However, we will capture some pictures to preserve the memories!)
