Austin Heath welcomes first residents

John and Jean Radford were among the first to get the key to their new Inspired Villages home, set within the first phase of development at Warwick Gate.

The couple, both in their 70s, who moved from Buckinghamshire where they had lived for 42 years, said they were thrilled with their new two-bedroom apartment.

Mr Radford commented: “It was quite a wrench to move away and into a new area but we have already been made to feel so welcome and absolutely love our new apartment. We bought off-plan which was a bit of a risk for us but also very exciting seeing it all come together. 

“We have already settled in, met the other two new residents and we’re enjoying using the facilities that are available with more to come. The beauty of this is that we can enjoy that side of things while we are able to, but know that there are care packages available should we need that in the future.

“We are really looking forward to being part of this community as it grows and would highly recommend this place to anyone. We’ve stopped living at work and started working at living.”

The first phase is bringing 49 new apartments to Warwick, set in a safe village environment and is due to be completed by summer. A total of 167 apartments and penthouses will be complete by 2018 as part of the £65 million development, providing approximately 60 jobs for the local economy.

All residents can look forward to being part of a unique retirement community that will encompass not only the apartments, but onsite facilities including a wellness spa and relaxation pool, gym, deli shop, restaurant and community rooms, as well as onsite care services.

To celebrate getting the key to their new home, the couple, along with other new home owners Lord Francis Tombs and Mrs Teresa Clemons, were treated to champagne from the team at Inspired Villages, the company at the forefront of retirement for the over 65s.
