Inspired Villages wins ‘Property Investor of the Year’ at the HealthInvestor Awards for second consecutive year
Leading retirement villages operator and developer Inspired Villages has won ‘Property Investor of the Year’ at the HealthInvestor Awards for the second year running.
Held virtually this year on Thursday 15 October, the prestigious awards ceremony recognises the top players in the health and social care industry.
The award provides welcome recognition that Inspired Villages’ business model – which is designed to help over 65s lead healthier, independent lives for longer by supporting their physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing – has never been more important, especially in light of the challenges facing society.
The HealthInvestor award comes in addition to a year full of successes for the company, which was established by Legal & General in 2017 and operates six retirement villages. 2020 has seen Inspired Villages secure a pipeline to deliver a further 2,500 age appropriate homes with planning permission wins for four new schemes and two further phases of work at existing villages. Construction has also begun this year on two new villages – Ledian Gardens in Kent, and Elderswell in Bedfordshire.
Commenting on the win, Inspired Villages CEO Jamie Bunce said:
“We’re delighted to have won ‘Property Investor of the Year’ at the HealthInvestor Awards for a second consecutive year. Inspired Villages is committed to building communities that combat loneliness and ill health in your later years and never has that purpose been more important than now, which makes this award even more special. We are so proud to have won and I can’t thank the whole Inspired Villages team enough for the phenomenal work they do.”
Phil Bayliss, CEO of Later Living at Legal & General, added:
“Legal & General is committed to making long-term investments in assets that are socially and economically beneficial to society. We established Inspired Villages in 2017 in recognition of the rapidly growing need for age appropriate homes to safeguard the wellbeing of older people as well as help our overburdened NHS and social care services. It was important to us to create a customer-centric platform with the capabilities to scale up quickly to meet this high demand and make a real difference to lives.
“It is therefore fantastic to see Inspired Villages’ work on this front recognised by the HealthInvestor Awards. Many congratulations to the team for all the hard work they have put in to make this possible.”
