What’s involved;
- The PSA test measures levels of a protein called prostate-specific antigen in the blood, which can rise due to various factors, including age, inflammation, and cancer.
- A small blood sample is taken and sent to a lab for analysis.
- The test can be administered by a qualified nurse intravenously or via a finger prick test.
- Despite the increasing need for early detection, routine screening for prostate cancer isn’t standard in the UK!
