Inspired urges people to dig deep for bubbly Aash to live pain-free

Tattenhall Cricket Club is aiming to raise £500 at the Junior Cricket Festival on 24 July, which Inspired Villages has promised to match-fund to help improve the quality of life for a local boy with an infectious smile.

Five-year-old Aash-Jai Evans, from Shocklach has diplegic cerebral palsy and needs a life-changing operation so he can live pain-free and walk unaided.

Funding for the risky and complex Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) operation was cut in March this year so the family now need to find £21,000 to cover the surgery cost at Alder Hey. The family has already raised the £20,000 needed to fund the essential pre-op physio, aftercare, post-op physio and equipment.

Despite the pain he encounters every day, mum Shaileena describes Aash as a happy, smiley and loving boy who loves to swim unaided, play tag and even football – often on his knees – with his friends.

Aash’s 12-year-old big brother Ethan (pictured front with the Inspired team) plays for Tattenhall’s U13 team and is proudly helping to umpire at the festival.

Visitors can contribute to the Aash-Jai Quality of Life Fund by buying wristbands, food and drink and by entering the raffle at the festival.
