Sun plays ball as Inspired and Cheshire celebrate championship win
Cheshire’s 8-wicket win over Wiltshire at Tattenhall Cricket Club (Wiltshire 166 & 233, Cheshire 303 & 98-2) as part of the Unicorns Championship was celebrated by fans and visitors last weekend.
The prestigious fixture coincided with the start of a 3-year sponsorship deal between Inspired Villages and Tattenhall Cricket Club, which has funded a new state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard and a mix of events including the first ever junior cricket tournament.
The Inspired team was on hand to offer free welcoming refreshment in the warm sun and talk to visitors about its new 151-apartment development at Frog Lane in Tattenhall.
When its first phase opens in autumn 2016, the site will be at the cutting edge of retirement living, encouraging its residents to lead active lifestyles and pursue new hobbies.
James Cobb, sales and marketing director of Inspired Villages, said:
“Our Cheshire village will be at the leading edge of retirement for the over 65s. It’s all about celebrating life; whether that’s through participating in cultural activities and sports such as cricket, or simply taking the opportunity to spectate and enjoy the thrill of being in the audience.
“As such, it’s an absolute pleasure to show our support for Tattenhall Cricket Club. The new scoreboard is a fantastic addition to the cricket ground whilst the upcoming junior cricket tournament will be a great opportunity for Cheshire’s next generation of talent.”
Alex Sandland, chairman of Tattenhall Cricket Club, said:
“Through the support of Inspired Villages, we’re delighted to upgrade the scoreboard facility and to bring a junior cricket tournament to our grounds for the very first time. The timing of this coincides with an exciting summer ahead, which started this month with the Cheshire vs. Wiltshire fixture. This is the first time such a game has been awarded to Tattenhall and a fantastic opportunity to showcase our unique rural setting and excellent facilities.”
Tattenhall Junior Cricket Festival will be held for the first time on Sunday 24 July for u9 and u11 age groups. There will be 8 teams in each six-a-side softball game and over 120 junior cricketers from Cheshire clubs will be involved. The tournament will be publicised on the cricket club’s website.
Once complete, Inspired Villages in Tattenhall will include a range of amenities for its residents including the Serenity wellness spa and gymnasium, the Tattenhall brasserie with alfresco seating areas, the Castle deli-shop-café, the Chapters library, as well as an on-site health and beauty salon.
Phase One of Gifford Lea will launch later this year with 48 apartments. Inspired Villages provides many types of accommodation for the over 65s and prices for a two-bed apartment in phase one range from £299,000 to £516,000.
